Zombie Frappuccino Review: Caramel Apple As A Drink
If those caramel apple suckers were a drink, this is it.
First off, I am 100% a Dunkin’ coffee drinker. Very rarely,
you will ever find me at Starbucks unless the drink is free, someone is buying
me the drink, or I want White Chocolate Mocha in the winter- if you haven’t
tried that, you need to.
I didn’t cave into the Unicorn Frappe, and I heard it wasn’t
all that good. But I suppose it was good since they brought it back a second
time?? But, when I saw the post for the Zombie Frappe, I couldn’t help but want
to try it. I was in a high sugary mood Friday and I got to leave work early,
and it was payday, so why not. I left work a few minutes even earlier so I would
have enough time in Starbucks forever waiting line, and still catch the Blue
line by 4.
I reposted a video on Facebook of the Zombie Frappe and I had
a few of my friends comment on the post and on Snapchat saying, “to try it”, “it
was too sweet”, and “get the caramel drizzle instead of the mocha drizzle”. The
mocha syrup is the dark pink going through the drink.
Little bit of info on this Halloween drink:
This was only available at Starbucks from October 26th
to the 31st. It is known as the “Zombie guts” drink. This drink-
served cold (Frappuccino), had a green caramel apple base, with a bloody-pink
mocha drizzle and topped with the fresh pink whipped cream brains.
***Think about it….mocha and green apple and caramel, doesn’t
sound as good. I feel like the mocha would have thrown it off. So, if this
drink ever comes back out, I recommend the caramel drizzle.
After waiting for 12 minutes- there was 3 people in front of
me and about 4 workers I could see, I got to the cashier. While I was ordered
and asked for caramel instead of mocha, the two employees standing there gave
me a weird look and asked, “how’d you know to get that instead?!” I told them
about the recommendations I got and the two employees went on about how great
the drink was and I will love it. This made me more excited.
I got the drink and immediately Snapchatted it- of course
because that’s our generation haha. I got about 17 people who responded to the
post on my story of this drink asking how it was. If I could take those caramel
apple suckers and make it into a drink, this would be the drink.
It was sweet, which satisfied my sweet craving I had, but I got
a Grande- which is medium in Starbucks language- and I wish I got the size
smaller because it was very sweet. It took me about 3 sips to fully like the
drink, because I’m not used to such sweet drinks. Once you mix the whip cream
in with the drink, it was not as sweet. I could not imagine getting the
original mocha drizzle with this drink. I don’t think the drink would have been
as sweet since caramel is definitely sweeter, but I believe that the mocha
would still throw off the green apple taste of the drink. I spent about $6 on
this drink, and I think Starbucks is overpriced for the most part, but I don’t
think I’d spend $6 on this drink, or any drink at Starbucks. After reading more
reviews on this drink, I saw, “this drink is a total winner!” to “I’m disappointed,
this drink sucks”. There was nothing in-between.
If you can handle a sweet, sugary drink. Or just really like
the taste of caramel apple everything, I would recommend this Zombie Frappe! Overall,
I give this drink an 8/10.
